The Department of Justice targeted a number of people on Black Friday, and two of them have chosen to take an interesting stance in their defense. In an attempt to have their charges dismissed, Chad Elie and John Campos will be arguing that poker is a skill game.

On April 15th, 2011 the lives of many online poker players in America were changed in a big way as their access to the biggest online poker rooms was cut off without warning. Many players were forced to decide whether or not they were willing to take drastic actions to continue playing online. With the remaining available sites in the United States having little to no player base, the option became clear for some of these players: move abroad.

Moving out of your country is not an easy thing to do. You have to understand the immigration policy of the country you intend on temporarily relocating to, and then you must find accommodations in said country. If your site of choice is PokerStars, you must then prove to them that you are maintaining a residence in another country. Poker Refugees was made to help you with these things.

Poker Refugees is a service run through PocketFives, a site that ranks tournament players. You must pay a one time fee of $1,000 in order to receive their services.

Heavy users of download free poker sites will know the story of Jose Macedo’s rise to stardom and subsequent crash and burn. His reputation, along with those of his backers (Haseeb “DogIsHead” Qureshi and Daniel “Jungleman” Cates), has been ruined for good.

Macedo has promised to return the $30k he scammed from the players that fell into his scheme. However Lock Poker, a site that offers a variety of poker bonuses, announced that it was going to pursue legal action against Macedo.
