Heavy users of download free poker sites will know the story of Jose Macedo’s rise to stardom and subsequent crash and burn. His reputation, along with those of his backers (Haseeb “DogIsHead” Qureshi and Daniel “Jungleman” Cates), has been ruined for good.
Macedo has promised to return the $30k he scammed from the players that fell into his scheme. However Lock Poker, a site that offers a variety of poker bonuses, announced that it was going to pursue legal action against Macedo.
Before all the drama, Macedo had become part of Lock Poker’s Pro team. The details of the scandal caused Lock Poker to remove Macedo’s sponsorship. Once everything was made public, most people assumed Macedo would simply disappear from the online poker world.
Unfortunately for Macedo, Eric “Rizen” Lynch announced on a poker forum that Lock Poker would be filing a lawsuit against the former pro. Lynch stated that details on the lawsuit would be released in the future.

Read MoreThe US government handed out a nine-count federal indictment to eleven people involved with PokerStars, Full Tilt Poker, and AP/UB. The alleged crimes committed include money laundering and conspiracy to commit bank fraud. The eleven people charged were either involved with the money poker sites or with payment processors.
Bradley Franzen, one of the people charged, has pleaded not guilty to a US magistrate in New York. Franzen is a payment processor and is being charged for creating fake companies and websites for the purpose of obscuring transactions with poker sites. He is also accused of deceiving banks about such payments.
Frazen turned himself in to the FBI just after the weekend. A $200,000 bond secured by his parents enabled his release. If he is convicted of conspiracy to commit bank and wire fraud, he could be looking at 30 years in jail.
Also pleading guilty is Chad Elie, another payment processor for online poker rooms. Charged for bank/wire fraud and money laundering, he was arrested on the 15th in Las Vegas. Similar to Franzen, he is also accused of trying to pass off poker transactions as other services.
